I obtained a position in the Chapman Cultural Center (CCC) through the Wofford College work-study program. I began my work in various areas of the CCC, so as to acquaint myself in all aspects of this non-profit organization.Science Museum:-Assisted children as they interacted with featured exhibits -Informed visitors of upcoming camps and events-Led small tours through the live animal exhibit -Offered a chance to hold some of the animals (on my own) for an informal presentation.History Museum:-Maintain the facility and overlook sales and corresponding transactions Spartanburg Art Museum:-Attend the front desk, answer phone calls and greet visitors-Inform visitors of new exhibits and various events both present and upcoming in the museum and throughout the CCC. -Walk around with visitors, directing them to certain artworks and the interactive section for children. -Manage donations and sales transactions; handle receipts and input corresponding information in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets of sales. During the weekdays and after classes, I assist the Arts Partnership of Spartanburg, working closely with the President and CEO, Jennifer Evins and the Administrative Assistant, Sandi Dupre.-Enter data into Raiser's Edge program-Write thank you notes to donors
