At the Siempre Sports Academy, the workshops will serve as a place where students will learn the soft skills necessary to be competitive on the sport job market, as well as a space where students can network with other underrepresented students. Most importantly, the workshops will be a space where underrepresented students will acquire tools for success directly from industry leaders and participate in personal interactions that will foster a network of sport professionals to assist in the employment process.

As a Business Development Consultant, Dr. Williams (founder of Savant Siempre, L.L.C) was brought on to aid in the development of strategic plans for driving customer engagement and client acquisition. Dr. Williams also serves as an on-site representative at various events and meetings concerning the growth and implementation of FanVoice software.

As an Assistant Professor at San Jose State University, A. Lamont is primarily responsible for teaching a combination of undergraduate and Master’s courses. In addition to pedagogy, A. Lamont continually advises students, publishes scholarly work in research journals, and participates in service initiatives in Silicon Valley. A. Lamont's research interests include (but are not limited to) intercollegiate athletics, civil rights legislation, and athlete activism. Dr. Williams is also a DEI consultant for major sport teams and universities across the nation, specializing in workplace diversity education and development of inclusive policies. Dr. Williams was hired as a Special Consultant on all matters pertaining to diversity, equity, and inclusion for the San Jose State University Athletics Department in Fall on 2022. In this role, Dr. Williams is tasked with overseeing DEI strategies, plans, and implementation for the Athletic Department. Additionally, Dr. Williams works directly with the Assistant Athletics Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to provide both staff and student facing workshops (and materials) for the advancement of knowledge related to the specifics of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice.

As part of our philanthropic Siempre Foundation, Siempre Africa is our international health equity mission focused on providing sponsorship to orphans in African nations. Our goal is to provide financial support and in-kind donations (i.e., clothing, shoes, dry food, etc.) to ensure that children in African orphanages receive the essential resources necessary for a beautiful life in the motherland of Africa!

A. Lamont Williams is a Doctoral Candidate (ABD) working on his dissertation. He has research interests in Critical Race Theory, intercollegiate athletics, civil rights, anti-discrimination law, antitrust law, and composition studies. He has authored articles in English academic journals and works with collegiate athletes as a strategic academic coach and mentor. A. Lamont Williams primarily works with collegiate football athletes, in addition to beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, and cross country at Florida State University.

As a Student-Athlete Academic mentor, Lamont specializes in working one-on-one with student-athletes to expand their academic skills and assist student-athletes in developing strategies essential to college success. Areas of focus include time management, reading, writing, critical thinking, and test-taking and note-taking strategies (special attention is paid to freshmen and student-athletes with learning disabilities). Additionally, Lamont specializes in working with athletes to assist in their journey of finding self and identity outside of being an athlete.

As an Editorial Assistant, A. Lamont is responsible for providing direct assistance to the editor of the Sociology of Sport Journal. Lamont provides administrative assistance to the editor by running errands, accompanying the editor at various conferences, and performing other tasks as needed.

As an Athletic Marketing Intern, A. Lamont worked as an assistant to the Director of Athletics Marketing. A. Lamont was responsible for community outreach, administrative office duties, orchestration of the Red and Black Gala, and overseeing operations of SIUe's Kid's Club (child mentorship club).
