During my research assistant position with Dr. Gu, I focused on the generation of closely packed monolayers of nanospheres. To accomplish this, I employed the drop casting method. The device utilized for drop casting had been inactive for a period of five years. As part of my responsibilities, I conducted a comprehensive diagnosis of the device, including circuit analysis, program debugging, device redesign, and soldering. Once the device was successfully restored, I prepared nanosphere solutions and silicon substrates. The resulting nanosphere coverage on the device demonstrated excellent performance and alignment.

During my summer internship at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, I had the opportunity to contribute to the ATLAS experiment at CERN, a collaborative effort involving 45 United States universities and national labs. My primary focus was on developing an efficient cooling system for the ITk inner system of the Large Hadron Collider.In this role, I was responsible for designing the endcap cooling demonstrator using SolidWorks, a powerful 3D modeling software. I successfully created the entire endcap demonstrator, which was later sent to the Argonne National Lab for production. Additionally, I utilized PowerShell to run simulations of the cooling system, analyzing its performance and validating the design.To further enhance the project, I adapted the existing code to generate comprehensive analyses of the cooling demonstrator. This allowed for a detailed evaluation of its functionality and performance.By actively participating in the design and analysis of the endcap cooling demonstrator, I gained valuable experience in applying engineering principles to real-world research projects and collaborating within a large-scale scientific endeavor.

During my time at STEP up, a program affiliated with SDGE, I had the opportunity to collaborate on a unique project. Our main objective was to design a customized toy tailored to address the motor skill impairment of a specific child.In this role, I actively engaged in discussions with a team of experts to understand the specific challenges faced by the child. Together, we conceptualized and designed a toy that incorporated interactive elements to improve cognitive skills while providing an enjoyable experience.To bring the design to life, I utilized my skills in silver soldering to assemble and customize the toy. Additionally, I applied programming knowledge to program the toy, enhancing its functionality and tailoring it to the child's specific needs. We implemented features such as a color-specific song to reinforce correct color selection and error notifications to encourage the child to retry when an incorrect color was chosen.Through this experience, I gained hands-on experience in collaborating within a multidisciplinary team and using my technical skills to develop innovative solutions. It was truly rewarding to witness the positive impact our customized toy had on the child's motor skill development and overall engagement.
