Co-Founder and CEO of a hybrid organization that is conducting critical biomedical research of human health in space while building medical technologies to support human survival far beyond planet Earth.

Joined at the close of Series B to lead the scientific and operational efforts for the growing organization. I led strategic development of products and services supporting protocol development and clinical trial execution. I created the foundational methodology and approach for study design and protocol optimization. In addition to leadership in scientific advances, I also led a team to support implementation and operations for sponsored research - inclusive of regulatory management, customer/patient service, and software execution. Additional accomplishments include:Sponsor Research Leadership, I authored protocols for a variety of sponsor projects including prospective review of health service utilization and digital device evaluation for weight loss products. I also led the biostatistical core for analysis and reporting of findings. Expertise in Software Management, as a super user of the software product I led the development of innovative use strategies for improved market fit and product utilization. In this role, I served as a strategic leader with the engineering staff for product improvements and new builds. Customer Success, under my leadership customer success in operations dramatically improved KPIs for project management planning and execution, and customer service delivery. Notably, average response times dropped from > 72 hours for open customer queries to an average of < 6 hours for total time in ticket response and closure. Strategic Product Development, I led the methodology development for an innovative AI based product that systematically helps users, with and without scientific expertise, draft a rigorous clinical trial protocol. Methodology includes elements for research statement creation, hypothesis generation, and endpoint identification.

Founded at the peak of the first-wave of the COVID-19 crisis, the Mount Sinai COVID Informatics Center was born to address the urgent needs of the emerging pandemic, knowing that meaningful discovery could not be created nor acted upon in the vacuum of informational silos. To support this vision, I brought together leaders in data science, clinical care, and digital health from across the Mount Sinai Health system.

Joining an international leadership team prior to and in preparation for institute launch on March 29, 2019, I co-authored the foundational business plan to support the use of the $15M philanthropic gift. When the NY based co-director left Mount Sinai in Fall of 2019 and until the new director was hired in Fall 2020, I served as the interim strategic lead for all US based research and administrative activities. Reporting to the Dean of the Medical School and to the Berlin based co-director, I led the successful building of an international data sharing cooperation, inclusive of robust regulatory and operational oversight.

Operations leader and founding member of the INGH Directors team, I was instrumental as the author of the business and development plan tasked with execution and monitoring of critical initiatives within the institute throughout its growth over 4 years. My leadership supported the growth of novel clinical operations for the Mount Sinai Health System, community engagement in infection disease, the growth of an innovation center based in Silicon Valley, and clinical trial innovations in digital health technologies. Select leadership highlights include:Lab100, I was a member of the leadership team that brought this program to life. I supported the ideation, design, financing, and building this innovative “next generation” health clinic. Notably, Lab100 was conceived of, designed, and executed within 10 months and was awarded by Fast Company the 2018 Innovation Award. Having launched in October 2018, Lab100 was spun out of Mount Sinai into an independent company in July 2019. LymeMIND, this initiative was funded through a philanthropic gift by the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation to support the creation of a data center for their Tick-borne disease consortia. In support of this work, I provided project leadership for technology development and served as the event chair and organizing chair for the annual Lyme Disease in the Era of Precision Medicine conference which attracts thousands of participants annually and has served as a hub of innovation in outreach, awareness, and scientific connectivity.

Launched in June 2018, I provided operations support for personnel, finance, and development strategy.

Founded through a philanthropic gift, I supported the creation and implementation of the financial management and operational business plan for the initial $5M gift in addition to successfully securing $650K in additional donations. I served as the clinical research development leader for this center - one of the first academic centers in the world to explore digital biomarkers for medical discovery and health anomaly detection. Additional noteworthy accomplishments:Digital Device Evaluation, I led the launch of cutting-edge digital health research initiatives and wearable device research pipelines. Initial studies focused on validation of commercial grade at-home sleep devices, results published in Spring 2020.Theranos Evaluation, I was responsible for the protocol development and study execution for the evaluation of consumer lab company Theranos - the only scientific evaluation of Theranos. I led the execution of a stealth study conducted in Phoenix, Arizona, completed in just 2 weeks, to compare Theranos consumer labs to LabCore and Quest Diagnostics. The results of this study were part of key conversations around the now famous collapse of the unicorn company and the value of commercial grade consumer health technologies. Operational Growth, starting with just 12 lab members, my management and leadership led to center growth with 24 employees and served as the springboard that launched the Institute for Next Generation Healthcare. Led the efforts to secure the trademark of “Precision Wellness” in the US Trademark office

I supported the clinical research initiatives in Phenylketonuria (PKU) for Dr. Melissa Wasserstein and Dr. George Diaz in the Mount Sinai Program for Inherited Metabolic Diseases and the Center for Medical Genetics. Responsible for the coordination and management of the BioMarin Phase 2 and Phase 3 studies for the now approved drug, Palynzig. My daily responsibilities included patient management for 6 adult participants, data entry, regulatory compliance, sponsor research support, and drug registry support.

I managed and operated the comprehensive Neuro-urology clinical research unit under the leadership of Dr.’s Rodney Anderson, Christopher Payne, Craig Comiter, and Michael Eisenberg. I was responsible for the development and execution of 15 clinical research protocols in interest areas of urinary incontinence, urinary frequency, interstitial cystitis, and chronic pelvic pain.

Research Assistant and primary developer of a project to design and create software to translate and preserve vast amounts of clinical, anthropological, and sociological data with more than 40,000 patients from NIH case studies. Over the course of this project I created and managed a database utilizing MySQL software in a web-based context that used SAS/SPPS statistical programming knowledge as the backbone for data analysis.

Sole research assistant in the creation of innovative analytic techniques for the study of petroglyphs in the North American southwest, with particular emphasis on research conducted in the South Mountains of Phoenix, Arizona. Utilized visual editing software: Illustrator and Photoshop.
