As a software engineer consultant at NVISIA, I’ve worked on a variety of software products for our clients, mostly tending to do front-end and UI development. My projects have included: * Customer self service platform, for a member-based physician organization. Our blended client and consultant team built this application new and I joined for the second half of development, using AngularJS, TypeScript, HTML5, and SCSS to help build out the front-end. In addition to working on shared Angular components used in the application, I worked with the client usability designer to iron out visual defects and discrepancies that cropped up over the course of development. * Customer surveying platform, for a small startup. In this short-term engagement, I built the front-end of a small prototype application using AngularJS with TypeScript. * Greenfield online learning system for nursing students, for a large scientific, technical, and medical textbook company. Our blended client and consultant team built an entirely new online learning system; I worked on the UX sub-team, focusing on UI development. Our team used AngularJS, HTML5, and SCSS (BEM methodology) to create an easy to use, responsive, and accessible learning interface. I mostly worked on building out HTML and SCSS of application screens, with strict adherence to the designs, and worked with designers to standardize visual components, and on helping create HTML templates/specifications to send to content vendors. I also worked on a couple of other projects (during short-term engagements) for the same client, similarly using AngularJS, HTML5, and SCSS to build out pages and to correct visual defects. * Customer referral system, for a large health insurance provider. I worked on enhancements to the system using Foundation and jQuery, including developing the front-end of the admin screen, working with the client project owner to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure a positive user experience.

Greater Chicago Area

As a software developer consultant at NVISIA, I worked on projects for a large health insurance provider.* Member portal. I worked to convert the “look and feel” of the customer portal during the portal's redesign, updating individual pages and integrating CSS and JS changes into the websphere portal theme. I worked with the clients and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues and with my teammates to implement the changes. In a later project, I also worked on developing a new portlet view and on integrating content from TeamSite CMS into the portal, assisting with enhancements to content tagging capabilities and helping content authors with issues.* Mobile member portal. I also was part of a project to update the mobile customer portal to better match the capabilities of the main site. This included updating specific pages and the portal theme to match prototypes and fixing defects. I mostly worked in jQuery Mobile and CSS3.

For my final rotation in the Rotational Development Program (RDP), I worked on the TeamSite service engineering team. I continued in this role upon my completion of the RDP. In this role, I worked on TeamSite content management system development, configuration, and issue management. I also assisted in a major production server migration, helping prepare for a couple of the migration weekends and troubleshooting / testing for issues in migration. I was also lead engineer for Digital Asset Management, facilitated through the Interwoven MediaBin application.

As part of the Rotational Development Program, I spent my second rotation as an Application Developer on the company intranet team, developing in Java and JavaScript, as well as CSS. During this time, I mostly worked on converting the old “look and feel” to one created for us by a consulting company. I was additionally involved in college recruitment.

As part of the Rotational Development Program, I spent my first rotation in the BA/PM role on an SAP implementation team. I project managed an enhancement release of an SAP-based project. I was also the business analyst for an in-house equipment/accessory ordering automation project. During this time I was also involved in college recruitment.
