Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Reviewing landscape design plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and project requirements.2. Conducting site visits and taking measurements to accurately estimate the quantity of materials required for the project.3. Analyzing the cost of labor, materials, and equipment required for the project and preparing a detailed cost estimate.4. Preparing a detailed cost estimate: Based on the analysis of labor, materials, and equipment cost, the estimation engineer must prepare a detailed cost estimate for the project. The estimate should include all the costs associated with the project, including indirect costs such as insurance, transportation, and taxes.5. Working with suppliers and subcontractors: The estimation engineer must work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services required for the project. The engineer must negotiate pricing and ensure that the suppliers and subcontractors adhere to the project timeline.6. Participating in pre-bid meetings and answering queries from prospective clients.7. Working closely with landscape architects & project managers to ensure that the project is completed within the estimated budget.8. Identifying potential risks and suggesting measures to mitigate them, such as changes in site conditions, weather, or availability of materials.9. Reviewing and validating cost estimates prepared by other members of the team.10. Providing regular updates on cost estimates to senior management.11. Keeping up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to cost estimation in landscape design and construction.12. Maintaining accurate records of all cost estimates and related documentation.
