The responsibility was to manage and run the entire centre with its interventional program – under key roles of resource mobilization and fundraising, designing and facilitating training programs, documentation and reporting, accounts and administration work, networking and building on public relations and donor relations related to the APSA – Suraksha centre. Lead the team of 14 members and expanded the work of the Suraksha Centre to include outreach community activities in the neighbouring villages on issues of child and gender rights and child trafficking. Further initiated and started two vocational training centres (computer and tailoring) to support the women and youths in the local region to enhance their skills and have a better livelihood opportunities in the region. At times played the role of informal counsellor to the girls and staff team at the Suraksha Centre, coordinating their care and protection and rehabilitation. The key responsibility was to identify/develop and conduct various skill training courses/modules relevant to various industries that will enable job placements of people with disabilities. The role also included the market and job analysis from time to time in order to ensure the employment or job opportunities for persons with disabilities.

Volunteered to support Association of People with Disability in Lingarajapuram. Key areas of support were in training, documentation, evaluation, developing key strategies for effective implementation of the programme.

Dr.Veda Zechariah as trainer trained me in designing lesson plan, conducting classes to children and community mothers on different health topics.

Worked in this Organisation, I had the opportunity to work with the community directly. Trained many persons with visual impairment on Orientation and Mobility; organised medical camps, programs to create awareness among school children and community. Close networks were built with institutions, hospitals, government departments and agencies to tap the required resources.
