Growing up, I was always more inclined towards the "typical" science courses: biology, chemistry, and physics. This led to my decision to pursue a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology after high school. I spent the next 5 years in Hamilton, Ontario, growing and learning about the world and myself. Through this experience, I developed a lifelong passion for healthy living and aging. By my fourth year, after shadowing many wonderful health care professionals, I came to the difficult conclusion that this may not be the end goal I had always envisioned for myself. Taking a slighly unexpected turn, I decided to return to school just 4 months after graduating to pursue a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I had never taken a computer science or programming course before and honestly knew very little about these topics. I chose to take a leap of faith for Computer Science because of its strong emphasis on problem-solving and the prospect of working as part of a team to build something meaningful. The thrill of making my program work, solving complex problems, and continuously perfecting my solutions are all reasons I chose to stay. Currently, I hope to continue finding and defining my unique path. Computer Science has many different fields, and I'm on a mission to explore as many aspects of it as possible to identify what aligns best with my interests and passions.
