Being a PALS student lead involves creating, delivering and orchestrating Peer Assisted Learning Sessions (PALS), for the benefit of incoming new students. Whereby the student leads can create learning materials to pass down best practices, know-how and experience onto the lesser experienced students. A better prepared student is a better performing student, which will ultimately lead to a better student experience. A student lead is a vital and integral part of developing and cultivating a sense of student community; the PAL scheme is for students, and run by students. The sessions provide a plethora of benefits to the leads themselves, as they are able to fine tune and acquire new skills that would not typically be afforded to them on a traditional curriculum. Skills like public speaking, creating sessions & work shops, signposting, building confidence, and the like.
