About Savvas Savvakis

Senior Engineer and Project Manager with a demonstrated history of working with the research community and industry. Highly skilled in CAD-CAE, FEA, CFD, Structural, FSI Analysis, digital twins, and product design (from concept idea to prototyping and testing). Strong professional with a Doctorate in Engineering focused on Internal Combustion Engines. The inventor of a novel rotary technology applicable to internal combustion engines, compressors, expanders and pumps. As the inventor of the SARM engine and co-founder of "the SARM project" company, I oversee the development of a novel compressor with an output pressure of 1 bar/kg, a novel rotary engine with up to 35% lower fuel consumption and a smaller, lighter design (up to 4 times lighter & smaller). In addition to developing our technology, I am involved in researching potential applications in automotive, shipping, aviation, and industrial energy sectors, high-efficient and zero-emissions vehicles. In general, the SARM project cultivates a strong technical background in all relevant technologies, and the challenges of designing prototype for these technologies demanded the management of a sequence of experimental campaigns, collaborations with universities and R&D companies and exchanging technical consultancy with engineers in the automotive, aerospace, and shipping industries. I am the inventor and applicant of one patent (4A) granted in the USA and 12 other countries since 2006, with 12 additional ideas currently submitted as a PCT (PCTGR2022000061). Overall, my position has allowed me to gain a deep understanding of various emerging technologies and market trends while leading a team of engineers towards developing a ground-breaking rotary technology.

Listed skills include Finite Element Analysis, Simulations, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and 29 others.

The acquired benefits from this company are a strong technical background in all relevant and emerging technologies and an in-depth market & business understanding. We study our competitors, direct (like internal combustion engine (ICE) manufacturers) and indirect (emerging technologies that are promising to replace the ICEs). We investigate the new trends of the industry like electrification, hybridisation, and zero-emissions technologies such as hydrogen and fuel cells and we study the pros & cons and the real potential of each technology. This is the only way to find out our potential share market and discover the real benefits of using our technology rather than one of the other emerging technologies. This is the reason why we are making collaborations with laboratories involved in all technologies above so that we can understand the real pains and potential of all studying technologies deeply. As CTO, I supervise and manage a sequence of experimental campaigns and R&D projects through an Agile and Scrum process and coordinate all involved engineers. I use various software tools such as CAD design, FEA, CFD & Structural Analysis, FSI, and more to ensure the success of our projects, manage the deployment of digital twins, validation, verification & design optimisation procedures. I spend a significant amount of my time recruiting, identifying new software and methodologies to improve my team's efficiency, and solving technical or knowledge obstacles. I am also responsible for mapping out the results of our R&D process to define the next strategic steps of development. Skills that I gained from this position are a deep understanding and advanced use of the software below but also a spherical understanding and dependence of all involved analyses that an idea of a product requires before it becomes a real product.

Editor In Chief Of Ansa Users Guide Manual

Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece

As the editor-in-chief, I was responsible for managing a team of 15 editors-engineers to publish the new releases of the ANSA manual and "online help" tools every 3-6 months successfully. I identified the weaknesses in the editing process and suggested improvements to increase efficiency. My leadership skills enabled me to successfully implement these improvements, resulting in the company being able to release new manuals every month. This role required excellent communication and organizational skills, effectively communicating the new procedures and ensuring that everyone in the team was following them and coordinating with other departments to ensure that the manual was updated with the latest software features and changes.Additionally, I had to have a strong technical understanding of the software and be able to translate technical information into user-friendly language for the manual. I likely have to make my team work closely with software engineers to understand the technical changes and updates and then convey that information in a way that was easy for users to understand.Overall, my success in this role demonstrates my ability to lead a team, identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and implement changes effectively.Achievements:▪ reduction of the time required for the entire manual’s editing from 15 days to 1 day▪ the online help tool was upgraded, resulting in a 30% increase in users' visit
