Studying the deliverables of R&D projects to examine the excellence of their process

We study our competitors, direct (like internal combustion engine (ICE) manufacturers) and indirect (emerging technologies that are promising to replace the ICEs). We investigate the new trends of the industry like electrification, hybridisation, and zero-emissions technologies such as hydrogen and fuel cells and we study the pros & cons and the real potential of each technology. This is the only way to find out our potential share market and discover the real benefits of using our technology rather than one of the other emerging technologies. This is the reason why we are making collaborations with laboratories involved in all technologies above so that we can understand the real pains and potential of all studying technologies deeply. As CTO, I supervise and manage a sequence of experimental campaigns and R&D projects through an Agile and Scrum process and coordinate all involved engineers. I use various software tools such as CAD design, FEA, CFD & Structural Analysis, FSI, and more to ensure the success of our projects, manage the deployment of digital twins, validation, verification & design optimisation procedures. I spend a significant amount of my time recruiting, identifying new software and methodologies to improve my team's efficiency, and solving technical or knowledge obstacles. I am also responsible for mapping out the results of our R&D process to define the next strategic steps of development. Skills that I gained from this position are a deep understanding and advanced use of the software below but also a spherical understanding and dependence of all involved analyses that an idea of a product requires before it becomes a real product.

As part of my professional experience, I had the opportunity to propose, establish and manage the Biomechanics department for BETA CAE Systems S.A., a leading software company in the field of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) with headquarters in Greece and subsidiaries worldwide.Nature of Duties:- Proposal and development of the Biomechanics department for the company- Identification of market needs and opportunities in the field of Biomechanics- Recruitment and management of a team of engineers and scientists specialized in Biomechanics- Collaboration with universities and research centres to develop and validate new simulation tools- Design and development of software tools for the simulation of human biomechanics, including injury prediction and prevention, ergonomics analysis, and medical device design- Technical consultancy to customers in the field of BiomechanicsAchievements:- Establishment of a successful and profitable department within the company, with a team of 5 engineers and scientists- Development of innovative simulation tools for human biomechanics and a new stand-alone software (RETOMO)- Collaboration with leading universities and research centres worldwide- Technical consultancy to major companies in the automotive, aerospace, and medical device industries- Publication of 6 scientific papers in leading international conferences and journals, one of them recognised as the Runner-Up paper at the International Congress of Biomechanics in Brazil (2013)- participation in a European Call for 4 million euros including three other European companies under the coordination of the University of StuttgartThe experience gained through this position allowed me to develop strong skills in project management, team leadership, and technical consultancy, as well as a deep understanding of biomechanical principles and their application to real-world problems.

As the editor-in-chief, I was responsible for managing a team of 15 editors-engineers to publish the new releases of the ANSA manual and "online help" tools every 3-6 months successfully. I identified the weaknesses in the editing process and suggested improvements to increase efficiency. My leadership skills enabled me to successfully implement these improvements, resulting in the company being able to release new manuals every month.This role required excellent communication and organizational skills, effectively communicating the new procedures and ensuring that everyone in the team was following them and coordinating with other departments to ensure that the manual was updated with the latest software features and changes.Additionally, I had to have a strong technical understanding of the software and be able to translate technical information into user-friendly language for the manual. I likely have to make my team work closely with software engineers to understand the technical changes and updates and then convey that information in a way that was easy for users to understand.Overall, my success in this role demonstrates my ability to lead a team, identify inefficiencies, suggest improvements, and implement changes effectively.Achievements:▪ reduction of the time required for the entire manual’s editing from 15 days to 1 day▪ the online help tool was upgraded, resulting in a 30% increase in users' visit

I was responsible for a range of tasks including :▪ Participation in clients’ R&D projects▪ Provide solutions to overcome clients’ challenging technical difficulties▪ Make suggestions for the development of new software tools that will increase the company's competitiveness ▪ Train new colleagues and the personnel of the company's clients on the use of ANSA and META software.Achievements:When I worked at BETA CAE Systems, I had the chance to participate in projects involving various commercial software for CFD and Structural Analyses. My role in technical support provided me with the opportunity to assess the advantages and disadvantages of these software packages through benchmarks and setup challenges. This experience proved invaluable when it came to selecting the software for use in the SARM project.

R&D in fuel cells and hydrogen technologiesI was involved in the first 6 months of the "The European Hydrogen (Based) Society (HySociety) - Project Number 239" project, a project involving 14 European countries. The Project Coordinator recognized my research as the most profound among all the countries involved in the project.

R&D in renewable energy sources, fuel cells and hydrogen technology▪ I conducted extensive studies on hybrid systems for electric energy production, specifically focused on fuel cells and wind turbines▪ Analyzing and interpreting the European directives related to fuel and emissions quality and renewable energy sources, providing valuable insights for the project team

I created a priority list for the inspection program of the pipework in the secondary part of KKL and a material-database for the “Ageing Management Program” of KKL. The database has to contain the materials for the main parts of all components in the safety class 2 and 3 systems of KKL.
