One of my first jobs in high school was doing data entry in a call center. After about 4 hours of doing the same thing over and over, I knew there had to be a better way. Some Google searches quickly opened my eyes to the world of programming, automation, and data science. I fell in love with the efficiency and satisfaction that comes from solving problems using technology. There was always something to learn, something that could be done better, and the possibilities were exciting to me. Those first basic programs I wrote ended up saving the company hundreds of hours of time.Since then, I have continued to learn all I can about the field, specifically surrounding software engineering and how technology can lead businesses to accomplish their goals and make more intelligent, data-driven decisions. Recent developments in artificial intelligence have motivated me to become well-versed in the space. I am most passionate about solving problems that have a positive impact on society and individuals, which is why I loved my time working with Defy Ventures (helping formerly incarcerated individuals become entrepreneurs). I am currently in a startup incubator called Sandbox, where I will spend the next year launching a SaaS company as I finish my Master's Degree in Information Systems. I thrive in environments that encourage creative thinking and love to spend time in places of natural beauty. I have traveled to Australia and several of the Virgin Islands. China, Switzerland, and Vietnam are on my bucket list.
