The company was known as 'Sage Software, Healthcare Division' and then 'Vitera Healthcare Solutions' during this time period. I was hired as ‘shadow IT’ for the R&D organization, and was responsible for supporting all R&D-focused systems on the Alachua campus. After a downsizing event I shifted to the Configuration Management and Internal Tools team, while retaining the IT responsibilities.- Created R&D's first VM cluster using VMware Infrastructure (ESX) 3.5- Led a P2V consolidation effort for 200+ dev/qa machines and our build infrastructure- Led effort to move Alachua data center during campus move- Assisted with weekend move of corporate colo presence during Sage -> Vitera split- Established use of Gerrit code review system at Greenway- Migrate legacy projects from ClearCase/TFS to Git- Migrate project management and work tracking from custom internal application to VersionOne- Modified/rewrote nightly builds to use standardized tools and processes- Modernized existing Perl code base used by builds and other CM tools- Wrote integration scripts tying code submission and nightly builds to VersionOne

I was part of the initial team transitioning from UF to Red Lambda, a startup commercializing the technology behind the UF ICARUS project. Our initial product was Integrity (now MetaGrid); despite my title of 'Senior Research Engineer,' my role was primarily product implementation, integration/workflow development, QA, and company IT operations.- Delivered a live demo of Integrity resulting in a $40K sale to a large University customer- Implemented and maintained all IT infrastructure used at Red Lambda- Developed integrations for Integrity allowing L2/L3 data collection from network equipment- Developed Integrity jobs for workflow automation- Primary on-site SE/Demo/Installations/Support representative for Red Lambda

I worked for the Department of Housing, and was primarily responsible for administration of all Windows and FreeBSD server infrastructure used by DoH staff. I also assisted with configuration and maintenance of the campus residential network (DHNet) for 9000+ students, provided escalation support for the DHNet help desk, and trained new help desk staff.- Developed an online network registration system for new residents- Developed a per-user bandwidth tracking system for all residents- Developed a policy enforcement system (ICARUS) to combat network abuse and DMCA overhead.- Monitored all critical systems with Nagios- Migrated legacy NT 4.0 domain to Active Directory, including an MS Exchange upgrade/migration.- Assisted in all phases of a major campus-wide network upgrade (16+ sites, 10k endpoints).- Integrated Housing's first wireless deployment with our registration/tracking systems using 802.1x, FreeRADIUS, and the existing campus directory.
