Traditional method of monoclonal antibody generation is restricted by one-by-one approach, targeting individual antigens. Application of large scale gene synthesis and in vivo protein-protein interaction provides a hope to screen for the affinity and cross-reactivity of multiple binding partners through a library-on-library approach.

Doctoral ResearcherBose Institute Jun 2015 - Feb 2022Kolkata, IndiaMy research was aimed to investigate the RNA-protein interactions involved in the protein translocation in thermophilic archaea, by characterizing its signal recognition particle (SRP). The GTP hydrolyzing activity of SRP and its receptor, as well as their mutual binding and membrane association were further characterized by mutational analyses of the functional domains. As the final outcome, we revealed the exact role of the RNA and the specific catalytic residues affecting the functional association of the targeting complex. -
