I have over 15 years’ experience as a transaction lawyer advising businesses in a diverse range of sectors viz. Venture Capital, Start-Ups, FMCG, Manufacturing & Services, Real Estate, E-commerce, Software & Information Technology, Hotel & Hospitality, Co-Living/ Co-Working, Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment, etc. As Vice President (Legal) with Indian Angel Network (IAN), I am leading the in-house legal team in undertaking venture capital investment transactions in early stage start-ups. This includes negotiating the terms of investment (for primary, pre-emptive and follow-on rounds), exits, and secondary sale; as well as liaisoning with founders, co-investors, and external legal advisors/ law firms leading towards the closure of investment agreements. At IAN, I am also involved in Fund structuring, Fund documentation (e.g. Private Placement Memorandum, Contribution Agreement, and ancillary documents), and coordinating with SEBI, Fund Trustee and Merchant Banker (pre-and post-approval). I am also involved in working with external consultants, and coordinating with Investors on Fund Documents. I have previously been with law firms Desai & Diwanji as an Associate Partner, and Ikigai Law as Principal Associate.
