My responsibility as Vice President IT Infrastructure incorporate the leadership and management of all IT Infrastructure technologies, solutions and services, and to include data centers, business applications, corporate user’s environment and e-2-e IT service delivery and. It includes ensuring full commitment to the dynamic business challenges maintaining accurate and timely services for the “internal” customers and “external” subscribers. It involves the management of day-to-day IT service delivery and support while maintaining efficient cost operations and maximize the resources utilization resulted in achieving a track record in cost reduction and optimization.

The responsibility includes the development and implementation of strategic and technical plans of Vodafone Egypt’s data centres with continuous review of SLAs and performance indicators to ensure efficient and timely support and operations across the different function. This is together with budget planning, financial planning and tracking, and cost control. The head of data center, leading the management team, is accountable for ensuring efficient implementation and compliance of the internal and external policies and procedures of the Data Center to the ISO 9001:2000 standards’ as well as successful adaptation of ITIL best practices.

The responsibility covers the development and implementation of IT systems strategy including capacity planning of all IT systems and solutions to meet the business growth in order to provide the business with secured services and to align with Vodafone global standards. The responsibility also includes overall accountability for applications operations and customer support in addition to vendor management maintaining an excellent level of co-operation and leading to a valuable return to the business. As data center systems support manager during Vodafone Egypt launch, the responsibility includes management of the implementation of the new data centers and build the systems support function with the role of selecting, implementing, administrating all involved resources including highly skilled technical staff, H/W and S/W systems and building the local SAN for hosting enterprise backup and storage system.
