Afghanistan

Reported directly to the Director-General and Deputy Minister and member of senior management team and procurement committee. Completed the emergency phase of the Horticulture and Livestock Project, World Bank/IDA Grant of $52M, disbursed $35M within the required timeframe and handed over the project to the Ministry of Agriculture.Led a team of 70 staff in Kabul and 17 provinces, including program staff, M&E, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and Information Technology.Developed project activity plans to ensure effective teamwork with projects and the Ministry of Agriculture.Facilitated developing farmer organizations, improved their capacity, rehabilitated 12,000 hectares of vineyards/orchards, planted 5,000 new orchards, privatized 120 vet clinics, and facilitated more than 100 veterinarians’ training.
