I am part of the Professional Services Advanced Computing Team focused on supporting customer's HPC and HTC workloads. I primarily support bioinformatics workflows (Nextflow, Snakemake, CWL) on AWS. I work with a number of AWS services and tools to support these workflows. This includes AWS Batch, ParallelCluster, AWS HealthOmics, FSx for Lustre, CDK, and others.

I worked as part of the HPC Applications team on a Top500 system with a focus on workflows. In this role I worked to understand the workflow needs of the research community, and provide strategies and resources to most efficiently utilize the HPC system. Skills: Slurm, Dask, Python, Hadoop/Spark, workflows (Nextflow/Luigi/Airflow)

Basel Area, Switzerland

Worked in the Data Coordination Centre (DCC) of the Swiss Personalized Health Network (SPHN), which is creating a nationwide platform for biomedical research. In this role I led a 4 person working group of developers from top Swiss HPC centers, which developed tools to enable the transfer and analysis of data. Gathered requirements, assisted in the development of a computational analysis strategy, helped form consensus in a multidisciplinary environment, and routinely presented and reported on activities.

Barcelona Area, Spain

Developed a prototype CWL to Nextflow conversion tool. Worked with and built common NGS pipelines for RNA-seq data. Built Docker and Singularity containers for analysis tools. Deployed workflows in HPC and cloud environments. Demonstrated the potential use of GPU enabled Singularity containers within an NGS Nextflow pipeline.

Developed Python programs to automate data handling and analysis tasks. Worked to improve data handling of MALDI-TOF spectra. Performed instrument maintenance, tuning, and analysis. Used in-house tools to process spectra for further analysis, including the submission of analysis jobs to an HPC cluster. Participated in experimental design for MALDI experiments.
