The purpose of this role is to work closely with stakeholders across the University to implement and review all policies and processes concerning Tier 4 sponsor duties to the Home Office (an arm of the UK government responsible for internal affairs). This includes assessing and advising on the eligibility for Tier 4 sponsorship of prospective and current students and maintaining up-to-date audit trails and records for all Tier 4 Students registered at the University.

The role was to operate in a collaborative manner which is essential between the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions functions to achieve common enrolment goals. My job was to track and evaluate all recruitment and admissions activity and provide accurate weekly reporting to the Head of Admissions and UK Executive Leadership Team. My day to day job was to be responsible and accountable for the management and performance of the student recruitment and admissions team across the region, and through supportive and robust leadership, and monitor critical business KPI’s to exceed targets set for each student intake.

Bright Educations Centres is an award winning private tuition centres that caters for students who use English as an Additional Language and are in schools, colleges and universities in London. Over the years, as the organisation grew I have held many positions within the charity and current hold the post of chair of the Board of Trustees, to oversee the work of the Chief Executive and to promote and maintain high standards of educational achievement. Ensuring that the governing body sets a clear vision, ethos and strategic direction for the centres.

As a Programme Officer my role was to be on the front-line of service delivery, supporting students and academics and the delivery of academic programmes. Responsible for undertaking core activities essential to the delivery of services underpinning the student lifecycle. the Programme Officer plays an essential role in ensuring that the student lifecycle activities run for students and staff in a seamless and effective manner.

London Borough of Lambeth Council is a statutory body and I worked for what was essentially the education department in a small team that was called Ethnic Minority Achievement Team. My remit was to work in partnership with mainstream schools, parents, pupils and local community associations in order to help raise the educational attainment levels of Somali heritage students in Lambeth schools both primary and secondary.

Kingsdale Foundation School is an inner-London secondary school in South East of London. My role there comprised of been responsible for the welfare of students, who were either refugees or asylum seekers some of who were unaccompanied minors. I was responsible for their induction into the UK education system and taught them for the sixth months in small groups. There after I mentored and liaised with their families or carers, teachers, Home Office and other agencies both statutory and non staturory with whom they might have had some dealings with.
