As the Dean of the College of Health Sciences and Professions (CHSP) at Ohio University, I lead a diverse and dynamic team of faculty, staff, and students who are committed to serving, solving, and succeeding locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. I have over 20 years of experience in the field of communication sciences and disorders, with a background that includes a music degree in voice performance and a Ph.D. with a specialty in working with children with multiple disabilities. Working with families, caregivers and communities is foundational for me.My core competencies include enhancing the design, accessibility, and creative possibilities of augmentative and alternative communication systems for children and young adults, teaching and mentoring the next generation of communication professionals, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across disciplines and fields of knowledge. I believe that making connections is key for moving forward in the 21st century, and I strive to create a culture of innovation and excellence at CHSP.
