My responsibilities included the publication of our annual Corporate Responsibility report, response to CDP and Ecovadis, management of employee resource groups and ad hoc engagement groups, management of the Employee Relief Fund and internal disaster response communications, as well as project management of any U.S. sustainability initiatives.

I supported the execution of Hertz’ corporate responsibility and diversity and inclusion (D&I) strategy through reliable data tracking, analysis, evaluating market trends, and program management. Additionally, I was responsible to successfully complete Carbon Disclosure Project reporting, draft internal and external communications to support the corporate responsibility strategy, and launch six chapters of inaugural employee resource groups. My passion projects included the creation of a carbon offsets program for our corporate accounts and creating an Employee Relief Fund.

In this position, I was responsible for managing the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design building portfolio for the company which included eight buildings in varying degrees of completeness. Additionally, I helped implement centralized waste in a new headquarters building, coordinated an employee engagement group, and helped to strategize the 2016 corporate responsibility strategy.

As sustainability coordinator, I developed a facilities and construction tracker that was used to track spend and project status in North America. I also drafted communications for the sustainability platform and provided data quality control for the Carbon Disclosure Project submission.

I developed an Undergraduate Ambassadors Program, including outlining management strategies and evaluation metrics. Additionally, I created a database to record interactions between prospective students and the Office. My additional responsibilities included generating content for marketing collateral pieces and overseeing the design process.

My main duties included working with a team to develop undergraduate student life programming, creating connections with other departments to successfully implement initiatives, and performing program evaluations to measure program effectiveness. I also worked to create program and event overviews to ensure easy implementation and turnover from year to year.

My duties as Student Life Activities Council Co-Chair included managing a peer-reviewed grant allocation process. This process awarded up to $10,000 split between 20 student groups. I provided feedback on event proposals and critiqued budgets before they were presented to the funding powers. I also convened student representatives to discuss and make decisions regarding student life initiatives. Then, I presented the group consensus to the Master and Undergraduate Program Offices.My most important success in the position was presenting to and receiving funds from the Dean's Office for a new SPEA Student Conference initiative. SLAC was awarded $7,000 for the student-driven event. The event took place April 2015 and featured keynote speaker, Connie Hedegaard, as well as 25 student-presented research and projects.

Together with my group, we built a comprehensive report illustrating the state of sustainability in Indiana. In this position, I gained valuable data mining and organization skills.

I managed an event sponsorship outreach plan and implemented solicitation to raise funds for and promote the annual fundraising event as well as organized a planning committee of ten members. My duties also included the development of communications and management of website content related to the Sustainable Business Program. I also aided in the development of program follow up and conclusion.

I aided Professor John Fox in his Government Finance and Budgets undergraduate course. I held regular office hours for students, graded papers, and helped students develop paper topics for their final projects.

I worked with a committee to plan the annual fundraising gala in September. I served as the liaison between the board of directors and the planning committee, facilitated planning meetings, and provided general planning support to the Executive Director. The gala raised $21,000- approximately $6,000 over the goal. In 2014, I aided in organization of the planning committee, volunteer management, and the creation and management of the guest registration system.

I led the group in fundraising and raising awareness for Giving Back to Africa. We sponsored a photography contest open to students in Monroe County, Indiana. We asked the students to respond to photos taken in 2011 by students in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The exhibit, Beta Histoire, was curated by the Indiana University Art Museum.

I worked to promote synergy between IU Bloomington departments, faculty, and students interested in or working towards sustainability. I supported the sustainability community of practice- one group working to bring a BA in Sustainability and Environmental Studies to IU. I also collected information for AASHE STARS 2.0 accreditation and created a clearinghouse to house student opportunities related to sustainability. My responsibilities also included planning a Student Sustainability Summit which featured 4 faculty guest speakers and was attended by over 50 student participants.

BBP Water Corporation is a non-profit water utility. I aided in the daily operations such as automated chlorine titration, hardness, and pH testing. I also checked head loss gauges, completed backwashes, and worked with software to run the plant remotely. Furthermore, I studied to test for a water treatment plant operations license administered by the Environmental Protection Agency.

I organized activities for the student body of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Accomplishments in this position include organizing a networking brunch for 75 students and faculty. In Spring 2013, I acted as a liaison between Giving Back to Africa Student Association and SPEA USA. We planned and executed a benefit for Giving Back to Africa (GBA), a Bloomington-based non-profit that promotes service learning in the DR Congo. We were able to donate $1,200 in monetary and in kind donations.
