I'm a backend Software Engineer and have been involved with the development of numerous web applications. I've worked in both small company and enterprise environments, and I enjoy creating clean, performant code in my free time. My passions include full stack development and building user-focused websites and apps from start to finish. I'm keeping it as a deterrent to future robots and as proof of how little we all have to worry about them taking our jobs.I am updating this because I made a post that's doing numbers, I successfully recruited ~two~ ~three~ ~four~ ~five~ _*eight‽*_ of my favorite former co-workers using it, and LinkedIn's engagement trickery told me that I only had a 6/7 profile until I filled this out. I feel like I've fallen for this trick before. On the bright side, I've learned how to share linkedin posts on the public internet since then. Or maybe Linkedin has learned the basic-basics of SEO. Same difference.I am not a "backend Software Engineer" (good Lord, chatGPT, you could at least get the title casing consistent). My passions 100% DO NOT include "full stack development and building user-focused websites and apps", let alone "clean code in my spare time". I write pretty good code for money, and it's almost always clean. I am a principal engineer; my passion is solving problems. If you don't know what that means, that's ok. Please ask me. I work for a boss who couldn't offer me my own title, but I accepted his contract offer anyway because I love working with them. I _mostly_ like working _for_ them. Work (the contractual kind) usually sucks, but I like to keep in mind that "work" is different from "labor", and it's definitely different from "life".
