Adult Reference And Technology Librarian
CurrentCurrently responsible for answering reference questions via in person, phone, email or chat mediums. I have also worked with advertising programs using the Library-Aware platform, offer one on one technology assistance as well as participate in drop in technology sessions during the week. Also responsible for co-supervising the Reference Pages and giving weekly assignments for shelf reading the Adult Collection. I am also called upon for collection development, placing orders and expanding the Fiction collection. In the past year, I have accrued a magnitude of experience teaching Technology lessons virtually using web conferencing software. By experiencing this instant and digital world, I acquired experience teaching classes that covered PayPal, Wordpress, Instagram, Dropbox, Canva and the Microsoft Office Suite just to name a few. Establishing a solid and pleasant relationship with clients that visit the library is a top priority of mine as a nonjudgmental environment is crucial for people to share their questions and ask for help. When not in the library, I enjoy attending virtual workshops at the Suffolk County Library System to further my knowledge so I can share it with those who need it.
