Experienced senior software developer with over 25 years in the industry. I now work predominantly on server-side code using Java and Python, and have been an advocate of all things open source since before it was cool. I'm a creative thinker who works at my best remotely; I have worked full time from home for over a decade now.My greater experience has been in designing and delivering commercial-grade web services or backend solutions, ranging from middleware layers and access APIs to daemons and clustered web services & applications. Through my various previous roles I have been exposed to several approaches to system analysis and design across both the public and private sectors.Specialities: Java and Python development; Amazon AWS; Spring Boot; SOAP and REST web services and APIs; SaaS via SOA/FaaS design and development; network and server application development; researcher and solutions finder; macOS and Linux user; and plenty of CI/CD and full project lifecycle experience.On a personal level, my wife and I are committed naturists and have appeared across the TV and media in various forms around the world in our efforts to desensationalise human nakedness, promoting its mental wellbeing benefits and combatting body shaming. We are both British Naturism members, and I volunteer as their Podcast Specialist in support of their "Women in Focus" podcast, which my wife hosts.
