The founder and president of SBF Consulting, Inc., Mr. Ujiie is working for enterprises to promote the innovative strategies and actual activities in R&D and business promotion in the field of IT and the application, services areas in US, Japan and Asia partly. Prior to founding SBF in 1999, he worked in investment banking field for nearly two decades. There, he gained extensive expertise and experience in the areas of business planning, corporate research /analysis and other investment banking services including IPO, venture capital financing and M&A for emerging private firms in Japan. After starting SBF, he served a writer on high-tech trends of US to Nikkei-Net, the web-version of Nikkei Newspaper. He also co-authored “Driver of Industrial Innovation“(2009) upon his own contents of lecture in the graduate school of engineering of Tohoku University describing the innovation ecosystem of Silicon Valley fueled by technology ventures. In the research and consulting activities now, he and his team have provided analysis and consulting on most advanced technology, market trends, product development and business models useful for strategic planning for world-wide market. They have recently been most involved in data management and analysis field together with IoT (Internet of Things) trends including Healthcare and Industries application and services. In Healthcare, it includes preventive and predictive medicine using big data analysis and advanced AI partly. In Industry field, SBF also covers factory and plant management, smart city designing etc. Mr. Ujiie has authored recently a book named "Innovation Drivers" with sub-title "Core Strategies To Lead IoT Trends"(2016). He is a graduate of Tohoku University, where he majored in macro and financial economics. He belongs to several societies of Data Processing, Artificial Intelligence and Medical Information Management in Japan.
