I am heading Products in DataMetica and responsible for owning product strategy and ensuring high quality and timely releases of our products. As a product head I actively participate in SCRUM of SCURMs with my managers to ensure smooth delivery of work from my team. I regularly stage architectural review, deep dive sessions and code review to ensure that the product vision is met maintaining the best quality and delivery standards. I invest in inculcating culture of innovation, driving predictability in delivery, and grooming resources to prepare them for next steps. I ensure proper compliance to the process and stage their review from time to time. I am fully responsible for Quality, Product strategy, Product delivery and its maintenance at DataMetica. I own three products viz a. ‘eCat’, which is enterprise metadata management and governance tool which has quite rich feature set like data lineage, data profiling, DFD/STM etc.b. ‘DMAnalyse’ which is a platform on top of AWS for ad-hoc analysis to enable our customers effectively use cloud infrastructure in most efficient manner.c. ‘Pelican’ which is data reconciliation and validation tool across heterogeneous data source, without raw data transfer. It has different modes and report cell-to-cell difference across different data sources. The idea for pelican was borrowed from http://www.pmg.csail.mit.edu/bft/vandiver08-abstract.html and was suitably modified for big data by me. Besides above I am also responsible for ideation on product ideas and translating them to enterprise level products through constant innovation and due diligence. My role requires me to constructively interact with customers, field experts, SMEs and bring back the ideas to implement in the product which we started for DataMetica. I am also involved in hiring smart talent, working closely with recruitment team to build the right team, who can work on start-up mode to kick start the products.

I worked as R&D Director for GemFire, SQLFire & Gemfire XD (Stands for Gemfire Extreme Hadoop) products and playing the role of Pune site head at Pivotal. I was directly responsible for product innovation, delivery and maintenance of Gem* line of products and sustenance activities. I worked closely with my managers and different stakeholders to ensure smooth working of R&D center on day to day basis. As part of my role, I invested in inculcating culture of innovation, driving predictability in delivery, and grooming resources to prepare them for next steps. I ensure proper compliance to the process and stage their review from time to time as and when required. I meticulously ensured the growth of teams and center, with due diligence on hiring both fresh from college and outside general pool. My role also required me to help carry out sustenance engineering activities out of Pune team. I actively participated in teams daily SCRUM and provided them with the necessary guidance and was responsible for delivery of product releases out of Pune. I worked with my managers and stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of products as per our commitment.

I worked as a Product Development Manager, Managing Service Assurance BU and was responsible for managing delivery of projects and L3 activities out of Servers Monitor team. In this role I was accountable and responsible for development of following products out of team located at Pune.a. BPM for Servers: Patrol b. BPM for Virtual Servers: Patrolc. BPM for Express: Portal

I worked as “Sr. Development Manager”, directly responsible for the delivery of projects out of Platform team and Learning Management System team based out of Pune. I managed a team of ~20 people and was responsible for their growth, delivery of products in predictable manner, hiring, defining best practices for software development and implementing it to achieve the end goal of delighting customers.

I was working as a Tech Lead (Equiv. to Associate Tech Manager) and was responsible for providing technical roadmap for adaptation of new technologies in the product line. Key responsibilities included analysis of requirements, defining programming model for base team to use, creating straw-man’s proposals for new features and propose a design and review the work of my team members. I was also responsible for mentoring, guiding and building the base team.

I was leading a Geometry Applications team based in Pune and was working as Technical Consultant (~ Section Manager) leading a team of 3 engineers. My work involved a lot on interaction with Product definition, my counterpart Technical Consultant and my superior, based at Needham (Ma, USA). I was responsible for design, development, maintenance and delivery of Surface Selection/Collection, VRML import/export, Analysis, Datum features using facet elements modules. Apart from this I was responsible for training, coaching and leading my team who were reporting to me. I was also involved in the recruitment activities.
