I help businesses innovate by applying a human-centered, design thinking approach to problem solving. I currently lead User Experience (UX) for Alexa Auto at Amazon.Prior to Amazon, I designed and built connected car services at Automatic Labs (sold to Sirius XM) and my own company, helping insurance partners unlock new opportunities in fleet management and driver safety. I was also a Design Director at IDEO where I developed portfolios of work in the transportation and built environment spaces, creating new-to-the-world products, services, and design capabilities.I've partnered and worked with organizations across the spectrum, including government agencies, energy utilities, the US Navy, Fortune 100 companies, academic institutions, and non-profits. My portfolio includes award-winning UX designs for information display, workplace furniture and medical injection devices -- all for which I hold patents.After earning a graduate degree in product design from Stanford, I returned there to teach foundational product design courses to undergrads. I also launched a graduate course on Design for Sustainability and periodically taught at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (the d.school).
