I taught 9th and 10th grade English as well as AP Seminar. Some of my weekly duties as an educator include the following: planning, creating, & implementing lessons, organizing student data & projecting how students can meet their goals by the end of the year, guiding students into which diploma pathways they should take, problem solving as issues arise daily, differentiating to meet the needs of diverse students, and much more. In addition to the role of a teacher, this is my fourth year to be the sponsor of the freshmen mentors and to be the assistant coach of our quizbowl team. I was asked to be the leader of the English II PLC this past year and accepted the responsibility. I have served on the Benchmark writing team for Ascension Parish School district the past five years. I was also selected to be a part of a group of 15 teachers and administrators that make up the instructional leadership team; we are responsible for identifying the needs of our teachers and brainstorming ways to help everyone meet the academic school goals.

Taught 75 students English Language Arts, 6 with IEPs, using balanced literacy as well as literacy centers, collaborated with Science and History.

Promoted to Keyholder in February 2014, responsible for opening and closing the store, as well as supervising employees; sales representative responsibilities included operating the cash register, assisting customers, and imprinting Bibles.

Created and led a weekly study for a group of girls from the Methodist Children’s Home, connected with new members of the church, filed new member information into the church database.

Worked in the cafe creating and providing beverages for customers, acted occasionally as a customer service representative, trained other baristas on how to work in the cafe.

Followed up with youth and parents in regards to church activities, mentored the youth, wrote and edited documents, improved the filing and organization systems.
