The German TV Platform (www.tv-plattform.de) is an association of many companies, organisations and institutions that are involved in the development of digital media. These include private and public broadcasters, TV hardware manufacturers, infrastructure operators, service and technology providers, research institutes and universities, federal and state authorities. The German TV Platform deals with the convergence of consumer electronics, information technology and telecommunications - including mobile communications. A special focus of the association is to promote the exchange between market participants and social groups, to coordinate their different interests, and to inform the public about new technological and technological developments in digital moving image media. With our members rom almost all areas of the media value chain we provide a cross-divisional and cross-sectoral composition, the association is the only institution in Germany supported by industry with such a broad membership base - and has been for 30 years!
