As a Research Engineer with the UT Fire Research group I primarily worked on the lab's lithium-ion battery failure experiments. This included laboratory and large scale failure tests with the objective of better understanding fire and explosion hazards associated with lithium-ion batteries. As Lead Chassis Engineer for the Longhorn Racing Combustion student design team my technical duties included the following:- Using CAD tools (SolidWorks) to design and model the vehicle chassis- Performing analysis on the chassis design using simulation and FEA tools (ANSYS and SolidWorks)- Developing custom jigs to assist in frame fabrication- Performing physical tests to verify the accuracy of our computer models- Working with other sub-system leads to integrate their systems into the vehicle
