Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for Propulsion Team – S-97 Raider Program • Responsible for layout of APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) and ECS (Environmental Control System), including all the ducting, from conceptual to PDR phase• Responsible for layout of aircraft Bleed Air System, from mid-conceptual to PDR phase• Responsible for main engine build up design including design of main engine support mounts, all engine and engine bay drain lines, IPS duct, and engine to engine intake flex bellow.• Designed NACA cooling inlets for S-97 main engine bay • Designed cooling inlets/scoops and screens for S-97 avionics cooling along with all main avionics cooling ducting• Responsible for design of S-97 Fuel Bladder and entire S-97 Fuel System layout, from conceptual design to post PDR phase/present day. This includes Fuel qty gauging, bladder fittings and access panels, vent lines and vent fittings, fuel bladder maneuvering can, bladder mounting, and internal and external fuel lines for entire fuel system.• Responsible for layout of aircraft Fire Suppression System, from mid-conceptual to post PDR phase/present day• Helped line up suppliers for components for all systems mentioned above. Continue to work almost daily with suppliers for main engine, fuel, APU, ECS, and Avionics cooling systems.Patent File # ID-0018215-US - Sleeve Rod for Hanging Fuel BladderPatent filed for simple method to mount the fuel bladder between two structural keels. Driving issue was accessibility to the S-97 Raider fuel bladder. General Design Use CATIA V5 CPD (Composite Product Definition) to design ply layers and lay-up for APU Inlet Duct for S-92 AES (Advanced Exhaust System)Designed and released Mod Package for Fuel Jettison Modification to S-92 Helicopter.Reviewed manufacturing issues on Blackhawk and Medevac helicopters and generated ECs (Engineering Changes) when necessary.
