This position allows me to integrate within a team environment alongside industry leading engineers improving and developing the next generation of enterprise servers that will be released from IBM. My particular position requires that I implement multiple real world environments within a closed testing network and provide feedback to the other development engineers about my results. A wide portion of the test environment that I am given great latitude to build and develop includes the latest releases of enterprise Linux editions and Windows OSes. My concentration has been to work heavily with server virtualization including XEN, KVM, VMware, and Windows Hyper-V instances. I find this to be an extremely exciting position allowing my knowledge and skill set to grow while I am able to contribute to the ongoing development process within IBM's top notch organization.

This position is a non-funded position that I have offered my knowledge and time in an effort to work with top notch Linux developers as they also offer their time and knowledge. The project is being developed to provide an alternative to the for profit OSes available to consumers today that have little or no linux/unix background and lack the courage to venture into a heavily cli driven environment. The primary objective is to provide a seamless install to a robust gui driven environment while maintaining the strength and background of linux. I strongly believe in the sharing of knowledge and helping other individuals grow with experience. It is my desire that the efforts that I provide and the feedback that I produce will ultimately aid others both in knowledge and experience who choose to make a transition into the opensource world of operating systems.

Times Fiber Communications Liberty, NC, produced cutting edge products to support the cable television industry. During my tenure at Times Fiber I performed multiple duties such as acting as the closing supervisor for the last quarter that we ran production. Production procedures that I and my colleagues developed are still being used by Times Fiber today in their continued operations. During the last two years that the Liberty facility existed, a new network infrastructure was deployed in which I played an integral part of the infrastructure installation, software deployment and maintenance for the duration of the existence of this plant. Lass Trucking was a tri-state transport company serving North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The company was well known to it's customers for on time delivery and a high level of professionalism. Unfortunately, due to rising fuel costs and the growing age of equipment (i.e. maintenance costs), the company was forced to close.
