Led the community planning team in Michael Baker's Santa Ana, CA office. Responsible for staffing, project direction, client management, business development and continuing to build and expand Michael Baker International's excellent reputation and market for community planning services.

APA is governed by its Board of Directors, who are elected from among the membership of the Association. The Board is chaired by the APA President, and sets broad policy for the Association and governs its affairs. Day-to-day operations are managed by APA staff. The APA Board of Directors consists of 16 voting members. 13 Board members serve four-year terms. Terms are staggered, so half of the board is elected biennially. 3 Board members are ex-officio voting members and are the elected leaders of the councils of our component groups of Chapters, Divisions and Students.

A principal planner and responsible for staffing, project direction, management and support including client and participant coordination, scheduling, field reconnaissance, meeting facilitation, recommendation development, graphic and exhibit presentation, and report authoring, editing, and publication. Assists clients in moving their plans into implementation through strong and pragmatic visioning, building public/stakeholder support and excitement, bridging financing gaps through assisting with financial planning and leveraging local resources and helping build internal capacity to manage large projects. Leads projects through an inter-disciplinary approach that helps assure that goals and strategies in the plans are workable and within budget when it comes to implementation. This approach also speeds the process from plan to fruition.

Major Accomplishments: • Principal/Project Manager for the award winning Whiting Lakefront Development Plan a plan for revitalization of the Lake Michigan waterfront in Whiting, Indiana. The plan transitioned into over $5 million in design and construction inspection fees for the company and I helped my client/community secure over $50 million in funding for implementation of the first two phases of the plan• Principal/Project Manager for the award winning Speed Zone Master Plan a plan for revitalization of the area around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The plan has transitioned into over $6 million in design and construction inspection fees for the company and I helped my client/community secure almost $45 million in funding for the implementation of the plan• Created spin-off projects of at least $15 million in design and construction inspection services in the five years that I led the planning group• Established urban planning/urban design as a business unit within the firm doing approximately $500,000 - $750,000 in direct revenue generation annually with an average staff of 2.5 persons.• Improved the visibility of American Structurepoint within the public-sector planning community in Indiana• Built internal relationships with allied professionals and business units and demonstrated the value-add that planning brought in terms of not only spin-off sales but more importantly as a support unit to assist with improving urban design and communications on other projects

Major Accomplishments: • Directed the Indiana Economic Development Course (IEDC basic course) one of nineteen week-long training courses for new economic developers around the country. Was the youngest course director nationally• Moved the "Indiana Toolbox Guide to Development Funds" from a once a year paper publication to an electronically maintained database with a web interface for communities throughout the state to access for information on grant and loan programs available for community and economic developmentResponsibilities • Directed the basic course which included managing and coordinating curriculum, speakers, national compliance with IEDC educational curriculum, and site logistics• Managed the Center's community-based consulting services.
