I am a certified urban planner with over 22 years of diverse experience. My expertise is in long-range land use policy, economic development, public facilitation, and urban design. As a planning consultant, I have led many successful award-winning projects including the San Bernardino County Community Strategic Plans, which focused on facilitating and developing 26 grassroots strategic plans for unincorporated places in San Bernardino County, and form-based zoning and design guidelines for downtown Coachella, CA. Other award-winning projects include the successful redevelopment of the area around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the regionally lauded revitalization of the Lake Michigan waterfront in Northwest Indiana (Chicago region). My previous experience outside of private sector consulting includes a Research Fellow appointment with the Hudson Institute, specializing in building community economic competitiveness and Associate Director of Ball State University’s Center for Economic and Community Development where I provided technical support to communities and coordinated the Center’s economic development education curriculum. I am active in the American Planning Association, and I am currently past chair of the Chapter Presidents Council, serve on the APA Membership Committee and previously served as a national APA Board Director.
