It is more experimentation-based than traditional software engineering. At SigOpt we have built the Intelligent Experimentation platform to help modelers design, explore, and optimize their modeling experimentation in new and powerful ways. Our platform brings unprecedented tooling for management, optimization, analytics, transparency, and scale to this problem, allowing modelers worldwide to accelerate and amplify their impact.

The SigOpt team, product, and vision continues to grow within Intel.As a co-founder of SigOpt it was my honor to help build out a world class team of experts and transform the way people think of optimizing their products across a variety of industries via our enterprise SaaS optimization product.SigOpt raised over $17M in VC funding from Andreessen Horowitz (led A and seed), Data Collective, Blumberg Capital, SV Angel, Stanford University, YCombinator (W15), and many of the best angel investors in the world.

Working on the ad targeting team on using mathemagics to enhance targeting for fun and profit. Applying machine learning to improve our internal systems as well as developing black box Bayesian global optimization techniques to improve many aspects of Yelp at scale.+ Optimization: Co-developed and led team for MOE: the Metric Optimization Engine(github.com/Yelp/MOE, an open source optimization framework), found significant gains indifferent metrics across the organization using Bayesian Global Optimization algorithms.+ Targeting: Implemented multi-armed bandit strategies for ad selection, sole targetingengineer on mobile app ads rollout, developed new location-based targeting algorithms,advised and helped develop other machine learning and math based targeting projects.+ Leadership: Led cross-organization teams as director of the Yelp Dataset Challenge, MOEteam lead, intern and new-hire mentor, founder and organizer of Applied Learning Group(bi-weekly, all-engineering technical speaker series) and more. Successfully managed projectsfrom inception to on-time completion; balancing tradeoffs and coordinating teamwork.+ Recruiting: Created, implemented, and directed yelp.com/dataset challenge, gave manydozens of tech talks across the country, led events, gave hundreds of technical interviews, andclosed candidates.
