CowManager produces a sensor for dairy cows which is attached to the ear of the cow. It monitors the cow 24/7 measuring activity, eating, rumination and ear temperature. The sensors is sold world wide. My job is to manage the dealers world wide and make sure they have all the information they need to sell the product. Furthermore, I am also involved in further developing the product.

CRV is a company that specialises in the genetics of dairy cows. Its core businnes is selling semen and embryo's. Besides products CRV also offers services like advise in management and fertility.My job is to decrease the administration of the farmer by creating a data link between the milking parlor and our management program. I guide farmers in this process and I farmers when problems occur after the installation of this data link. I also maintain relations with external parties.

Worked on a dairy farm, beef farm and a cattle saleyard throughout Australia. Main jobs were maintenance of the farm, milking dairy cows, feeding calves and herding cattle.This was combined with travelling through Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Cambodia.

At Vencomatic I performed a 5 month research. The subject was "Egg hygiene in broiler breeder stables". In this small research I wanted to determine where in the housing system eggs get contaminated with bacteria and with what kind of bacteria. To measure this I developed a new measuring method. Besides this research I assisted with other ongoing projects.Grade: 8,5

Roslin

At the Roslin Institute I performed my 6 months thesis on "Effect of positive and negative treatment of the ewe during mid- and late-gestation on the reproductive development of the lamb". ovaries and testicles were collected of the lambs. Slides were made. Different staining was used to determine the number of reproductive cells and activity of the cells. To understand how the practical side of my research was performed I assisted a view days in a similar project performed in goats as well.Grade: 7,5
