Currently an undergraduate at UC Davis invested with the world of creative writing, audiovisual mediums like film as well as video games, and the wider media landscape. Overall, I’m interested in the “behind-the-scenes” with these forms—majoring in Cinema & Digital Media has helped me gain a more technical, theoretical perspective on them.I enjoyed the process of storytelling since I was a child—reading literature, learning more about other forms like poetry and short fiction, then falling in love with things like graphic novels and internet media. It’s the reason why I also decided to major in English, which not only allows me to spend more time with these personal viewpoints to movements and cultures throughout history, but also to strengthen my skills as a critical thinker and reader, concise writer, and clear communicator.I’ve additionally had opportunities for direct service through volunteer activities and work experiences—all of which has given me more perspective on the worldviews of other people and the different kinds of challenges we face.
