Welcome to the Historic Trades!I spend most of my work days in the Edwardian era (1901 - 1914).The main focus is supporting the daily and yearly operations of the Trades Exhibits which primarily includes gold panning, Bruderheim windmill, Mucho Oro water wheel, Dingman oil well, Atlas Lumber, Schont's grain elevator, Flett's blacksmith shop and the Strathmore Standard newspaper. What does that entail? Mentoring and assisting Trades Interpreters and Operations staff, in operating, maintaining, trouble shooting and repairing the historical equipment in the Trades Exhibits at Heritage Park.What I really do..., a little of everything. The goal is the preservation of the life, knowledge and skills of tradespeople.Jack of all trades, master of none, often times better than master of one - as they say.When you find yourself at Heritage Park please feel free to say hello.My previous experience of over 25 years of industrial model prototyping, trouble shooting and skills set brought some of the most sought after model kits and museum quality miniatures to reality under my own SMT brand name. My blend of time honored "old school" techniques in conjunction with modern technology such as 3D CAD, 3D printing, Roto-casting, resin injection and thermoforming delivered an accurate and appropriate solution.Combine this with 4 years as Lead installer for Cygnus Design Group, 5 years as a Westinghouse Custom Electrical Assembler Technician and a maker.
