As the only child of two vivacious immigrants who lived their dream of becoming both business owners and licensed pilots, I was raised with an inherent understanding of what it means to be on a runway, get cleared for takeoff and, most importantly, come in for a safe landing. My unusual upbringing set me on a path of entrepreneurship, starting in my teens. Themes of integrity, persistence, creativity and innovation have supported a dynamic career and a vibrant personal life. As a two-time cancer survivor I know what it’s like to live with uncertainty. I know what it feels like to be VERY tired and still bounce back. As a long time practitioner of the yogic arts I have cultivated a sense of balance, presence, peace, and compassion that I find is often missing from traditional business environments. I believe the workplace is a perfect setting to practice our values and realize our highest potential.My academic achievements at Northeastern University, including designation as “Honors Program Student of the Year” and multiple merit-based scholarships and research grants, cemented my commitment to lifelong learning. I have lived on three continents, speak two languages and engage regularly with people from many diverse cultures and backgrounds. This has given me a broad perspective and refined my approach to leadership and humanity in general. My experience producing award-winning film and television honed my narrative skills and highlighted my ability to convey powerful stories, whether on screen or through the businesses I build.As an entrepreneur, I have had the benefit of seeing endeavors in various sectors succeed and fail, each for their own unique but also universal reasons. These experiences have continuously improved my understanding of the entire business lifecycle. My diverse startup background includes co-founding a biotech venture, building business systems from scratch for the emerging and highly regulated cannabis industry, and launching a profitable coworking space. I have repeatedly demonstrated that I can move with grace from challenge to solution whilst assessing key needs and taking decisive action.As the CEO of Porter Labs, I am able to combine my personal love for dogs, technology and business with the promising world of IoT, AI and Machine Learning. Our incredible team is at the forefront of both behavior engineering and autonomous canine engagement and training. We saw an opportunity to harness technology to create immense value for dogs and their humans and I am fully and deeply committed to this vision and this venture.
