As part of my role, I train, supervise, and maintain open communication with a network of 250+ foster families, ensuring they have the resources and support they need. I develop and implement specialized training programs to enhance the skills of existing fosters and ensure they stay informed on best practices for animal care.I handle difficult and sometimes tragic situations with both fosters and potential adopters, navigating challenges with compassion and professionalism. I work closely with various departments to effectively manage shelter animal populations, including foster returns and adoptions, ensuring the process runs smoothly.Part of my responsibilities includes coordinating and overseeing the medical care of 75-200 foster animals, including scheduling appointments, managing treatments, and providing direct medical care when necessary. I also assist with animal transport, ensuring proper documentation and smooth intake processes.On a daily basis, I prioritize multiple emergencies, triaging situations as needed to ensure animals receive the care they require in a timely manner. I am responsible for placing animals in the appropriate foster homes and providing ongoing support to fosters, troubleshooting any challenges they face in caring for the animals.This role requires me to be adaptable, resourceful, and deeply committed to the well-being of the animals and families I work with.

I ensure all digital systems for our shelter are working efficiently as well as change and develop digital programs as needed to meet our staff and client's needs. Creating better systems for lost and found animals for our shelter and community members, creating integrations with other lost and found animal databases and creating applications in our shelter management software. I update our social media accounts with creative and engaging content and I am currently designing a new website for the shelter.

I manage and facilitate adoptions in the shelter and ensure that a high level of care is maintained for all shelter residents. It is also my joy to supervise and work with a small team of staff to create a positive experience for all animals and adopters. I oversee the barn cat program and evaluate cats for program eligibility and review adoption applications. I worked with the houseless population who were eligible for the community program to get them into community rental housing. I worked closely with landlords to build housing partnerships, assessed and inspected housing units to ensure compliance with safety codes, and coordinated money transactions between landlords, participants and the organizations. I worked with participants to empower them and assist them in their goals towards housing independence.

Voices Against Violence, Plymouth Nh

An Americorps victim advocate placed at Voices Against Violence provides advocacy to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and more. We provide case management for clients, connecting them to a multitude of resources that fit their needs. We also accompany clients to court cases, assist with legal paperwork and basic legal assistance, and connect them with attorneys and law enforcement. We work closely with local law enforcement, court security, victim's compensation, pro bono programs, other crisis centers, and many more. We also have a confidential shelter in which we provide safe transitional housing for victims who are fleeing in fear. Most of all, we provide support.
