Learning Specialist / Teacher, Self-Contained (formerly TMD) 2004 –PresentI served our District’s students who require extensive supports, accommodations and curricular modifications at the middle school level.Teacher Learning Disabilities, Generic Self-Contained, ELA & Social Studies 2001 - 2004I have also assisted with numerous District projects, including training and evaluating educators.

While employed full time as an educator in a local district, I have also served as a consultant on special projects, including the following.Member of Committees for Alternate Assessment for SDE with American Institutes for Research (AIR, test design company) Bias & Content Review (Science, June 2014); (Social Studies, July 2012), Social Studies Extended Standards (February 2012)Since 2013 I have served as a Representative for the National Center and State Collaborative (NCSC), General Supervision Enhancement Grant from the U.S. Department of Education, (SC Community of Practice Member, S.C. Department of Education with the NCSC)state assessments. I have been involved with the development, review and use of assessment programs for the state of SC and the NCSC national project. I have provided input as an expert in specific content areas and as a learning specialist in the development, review, and scoring guidelines for these tests, administration manuals, and other support documents, and provided support to school staff on their implementation.

Belton –Honea Path High School Program moved to high school due to students’ ages, and combined classes (formerly PMD & TMD classes)Belton Elementary School District-wide program for students with severe multiple disabilitiesI completed my administrative internship at BES under direction of Dr. Herb Tyler of Furman University. I also worked with Erskine College’s Teacher Preparation Program to train educators, specifically with Dr. Cheryl Light-Shriner in Special Education.
