Experienced healthcare executive, offering more than a decade of proficiency as a licensed nursing home administrator, she provides extensive knowledge specific to skilled nursing facility (SNF) regulations, healthcare strategy, and operational leadership. Co-developer and co-leader of the Atrium Health Post-Acute Care Collaborative, comprised of over 100 SNFs, multiple home health agencies, and hospice organizations to help post-acute care providers achieve improved outcomes by utilizing comparative data for Atrium Health’s first value-based provider network, a major initiative to support the hospital system’s large Accountable Care Organization (ACO). In addition, she facilitates an Atrium Health program focused on complex, difficult to place patients, which has led to an increase in the number of patients appropriately placed in the post-acute setting, a vital program to free-up high-demand acute care beds. Scharee is experienced in and works with the health system to create new models of care specific to the needs of the population in the market, focused on increasing value, improving clinical outcomes, and decreasing cost.Scharee serves as Hospital Vice Chair on the North Carolinas Health Care Facilities Association (NCHCFA) Board and is a member of the Payment for Services Committee through the Association. She also serves on two American Health Care Association (AHCA) committees, including the Survey/Regulatory and Reimbursement committees. Scharee is known for her expertise in the long-term care, post-acute sector. She has presented multiple times at the state level and has been called upon during her tenure at Atrium Health to advise and consult many groups nationally based on her expertise in the compliance, regulation, and operations of long-term care. Always leading by example, Scharee is passionate about patients consistently receiving the best care possible and continues to push the envelope on what healthcare could look like to improve access and availability of services throughout the continuum of care.
