A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) works as part of a treatment team at the Children’s Center for Autism, with the daily supervision of the BCBA. implementing individualized ABA programs and treatment plans. As an RBT, it was my job to provide direct one on one and small group training using ABA procedures for children with a diagnosis of ASD and/or intellectual disabilities who display challenging behaviors impacting their quality of life. Sessions consists of skill acquisition for self-help skills, academic skills, social skills, communication skills, vocational skills, and basic attending skills. As an RBT, I assisted with preference assessments and functional analyses, conducted direct observations, collection and summarization of data, and general documentation of progress.Along with my regular duties as an RBT I enthusiastically joined Texana Center's first DEIB initiative. The initiative consisted of a council of employees that were committed to the goal of creating a better workplace for all employees at the center. The council gathered 1-2 times a month and discussed strategies for bringing awareness to various cultural issues, increasing awareness of and connecting employees to recourses and fostering a more welcome and inclusive environment for all employees. At the apex of the council we brought employees together through the first connections event at Texana Center.

I proficiently trained and supervised a team of 5 Marines promoting a professional and pro-active image at all times through leading by example.
