We are a multi-ethnic, multi-socioeconomic ministry in Gastonia, NC. What brings us together is a common love for God and a desire to worship and follow Him. Our services are held: Saturday nights from 5:00pm-6:30pm. Our address is 212 S. South Street, Gastonia, NC 28052. Our bible studies are on Wednesday's from 6:30pm-7:30pm where we connect, grow and become servers and extenders of the Kingdom of God. The preaching/teaching style is conversational and illustrational, and most importantly, easily accessible for seasoned Christians and non-Christians. At Peculiar Generation our worship is simple without being simplistic. We seek biblical substance coupled with modern style. Our music is contemporary with elements of jazz and rock. We seek to blend elements of classic hymns, modern praise/worship and contemporary music. We have a dynamic youth ministry, N.U. Nation (Not Understood), which consists of three different age groups: 2-5, 6-9, and 10-12. The youth groups have their own worship services where they learn about God, His son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They express themselves and portray stories of the bible through drama, dance, and song. Our vision statement is: To establish a multi-faceted center for the purpose of teaching, training, equipping, and empowering individuals for discipleship of the kingdom’s purpose. Our mission is: To restore God's Peculiar Generation to their original purpose.Pastor Porter served as a Deacon, Youth Leader, Worship Leader, and a licensed/ordained Associate Minister at Mount Zion Restoration Church in Gastonia under the leadership of Pastor Rodney B. Freeman. Pastor Porter prays that Peculiar Generation will raise up a new generation of workers for the Kingdom. He is happily married to his wife of 16 years, S.Cherie Porter, and they have five children: Talysha, Ty, Devin, Cameron and Kyndyl.
