Teaching Social Welfare Policy and Services Health and Aging a look at how social welfare policies impact the lives of the ever growing number of seniors in New Jersey

Working to strengthen Neighborhoods, Faith Based and Non-Profit Organizations throughout the New York City Area including: Grant writing, government relations, program development and strategic planning

Providing a comprehensive range of services to support seniors in their homes and communities through Geriatric Care management Services and program development to community based and faith based organizations

Assisting constituents in obtaining needed services including SCRIE, SNAP, Social Security and other benefits; Representing the Assembly Member at community board, precinct and neighborhood meetings; Working with community and business leaders to inform them about the programs and services in the district and; Assisting in special events.

Field Instructor for first year graduate social work students placed at a variety of non-profit agencies throughout the New York City Area.

Advisor of First Year Social Work students specializing in Community Organizing and Planning; Professor in their Practice Lab course.

o Liaison with City and State agencies on over $5.5 million in funding for capital projects.o Initiated an educational program to address the issue of Domestic Violence in Central Brooklyn including a major all-day conference that attracted over 200 social service providers and 6 breakfasts that brought together hundreds of clergy members to learn vital Domestic Violence issues facing their congregations. o Developed linkages between Kingsbrook and the Caribbean Women’s Health Association and the Church Avenue Merchants Block Association about AIDS programming and testing.o Initiated weekly dialogues with leaders from the African-American, Russian, Pakistani, Jewish, and Caribbean communities in order to further meet their health care needs.o Worked with city, state and federal agencies to bring new health programs into the community. o Represented Kingsbrook on community coalitions .

o Advised and represented the Mark Green the Public Advocate in Brooklyn and Queens. o Accessed assistance from city, state and federal agencies for constituents. o Advised elected officials, religious leaders and community boards on community issues. o Convened meetings with neighborhood groups, government agencies and elected officials to explore solutions regarding housing, economic development and social service needs in Brooklyn. o Organized Southern Brooklyn Senior Roundtable to explore the housing needs of seniors. o Worked with leaders from Brooklyn immigrant communities including: African-American, Russian, Pakistani, Jewish, Arab and Caribbean communities to share and help resolve issues of mutual concern.o Co-Organized 2001 Conference on Jewish Poverty in New York which was co-sponsored by the NY Metropolitan Coordinating Council on Jewish Poverty.
