Global problems need global citizens to find a solution. I have lived on 4 continents, studied on 3 and worked on 2. With modest beginnings, work experience in a war zone and an obsession with Data Science, I want to be a part of the solution.That's why I chose to dive into Data Science while leveraging my Geoscience background and E&P experience. I was first introduced to Deep and Machine Learning (ML) while analyzing oil well data and making million-dollar decisions about where to drill next. There was no looking back, I got obsessed with data, moved to Canada and set off to teach myself everything data related. Starting with free resources, I soon progressed to DataCamp and got the 'Data Scientist with Python certificate' (23 courses and 6 projects) before being accepted into the BrainStation Bootcamp.BrainStation Bootcamp for Data Science transformed my relationship with data. I gained hands-on experience with Neural Networks, Deep Learning, advanced machine learning methods and model evaluation. Having learnt techniques like hypothesis testing, data visualisation and big data analytics, I implement them at every chance I get. For example, undertaking an NLP capstone project to identify positive social sentiments for Covid-19 by analyzing Tweets. In my spare time, I even utilized unsupervised learning to generate a model with a live interactive dashboard to manage my expenses!For me, data is more than a means to an end, which is why I regularly attend ML and AI courses and conferences. I am passionate about ethical data sourcing and auditing its real world applications. To this end, I participate in Machine Learning Ethics discussion groups to promote the inclusive and sustainable use of data.I'm now looking forward to a career where I can utilize my skills, challenge my potential and grow in a dynamic work environment.
