(Source : Ecran Total 12 septembre 2012).Created in 1987 by Jean-Pierre Guérin, GMT Productions is one of France’s front-ranking TV production companies.Landmark series such as “Julie Lescaut” (TF1), “Diane femme flic” (TF1), “Boulevard du Palais” (France 2) and “Famille d’accueil” (France 3) have confirmed its leading status.It has also produced a significant number of programs dealing with classical history (e.g. a docudrama on “Marie-Antoinette“), contemporary history (“Jean Moulin”, “93, rue Lauriston”, “Le Grand Charles”) and major current events (“Dans la tête d’un tueur”), and has also launched out into the fantasy thriller genre with the series “David Nolande”.GMT Productions has succeeded in implementing a policy of international co production with European and North American partners via prestige mini-series such as “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “Les Misérables”, “Napoleon”, “D’Artagnan and the three musketeers”, “Ali-Baba”.In 2008, GMT Productions ranked top of French drama producers, totalling over 80 hours’ worth of production. GMT also produced “Les livres qui tuent”, directed by Denys Granier-Defferre, for France 2, “L’affaire Bruay en Artois: l’impossible vérité”, directed by Charlotte Brandström, for TF1 and the crime miniseries “Flics”, created by Olivier Marchal and directed by Nicolas Cuche, also for TF1.In 2009 GMT Productions is filming new episodes of “Les Bougon”, a comedy series co-produced with Calt for M6 and “Facteur Chance”, directed by Julien Séri and co-produced with Frédéric Diefenthal’s company GFG for TF1 ; a miniseries, “Marion Mazzano”, dealing with social reinsertion and a one-off about “Châteaubriand”, for France 2. In preparation: a romantic comedy, “à 10 mn de la plage”, for TF1; a one-off about “Pompidou” and a drama, “Cinquième saison”, both for France 2.
