Stephan is a senior executive with a track record of delivering transformational outcomes with commercial and strategic insight and leading cross-functional teams at ExCo and Board level in a variety of corporate and national cultures. With his close to 25 years of leadership and management experience in financial services, he currently serves clients as senior advisor on a range of topics, including strategy, technology and regulatory transformation, operational risk, international leadership and management. Previously, Stephan was a partner with McKinsey and Company, where he also started his career. During his 10 years at McKinsey he served as a strategic advisor to CxOs at financial services clients in Europe and Asia on technology transformation and the use of cloud technologies; business and corporate strategies; M&A strategies; management information systems and risk management. He also led the Amazon Web Services' (AWS) industry specialist team for the Financial Services industry in the EMEA region; served as the COO for Global Operations and Technology at Barclays Investment Bank in London; was Chief of Staff at Barclays Africa Group; and headed up the Strategy team for Barclays Group.In his many roles, Stephan has proven his proficiency in influencing senior stakeholders and his capability for building strong collaborative partnerships in global matrix organizations, deploying his excellent analytical and communication skills. Over the years, he has acquired extensive knowledge of financial institutions in Asia, Europe and Africa. Stephan holds a summa cum laude PhD in Finance (Dr. rer. pol.), a European Masters in Management, a Diplôme de Grande Ecole de Commerce and a Diplom-Kaufmann degree (with distinction).
