Lead a software development team for the Information Technology Security Enterprise Data Warehouse (ITSEC-EDW) project by overseeing the design and development of new products, features, and performing code reviews. Worked with the customer to maintain the project’s schedule to best meet the customer’s goals and requirements. Responsible for the quality of code produced by my team and the validation of my team’s integrated code, updates, and new features. Coordinated the deployment of releases to various production systems. On call daily to diagnose and quickly resolve issues with the data warehouse SSIS and C# loaders. Also helped with the procurement process for the project in order to purchase new hardware and software. Screened resumes, performed interviews, and evaluated new job candidates for the software development team.Designed, performance tuned, and maintained the servers, databases, schemas, and indexes to quickly and efficiently deliver data to our web applications while leaving the ability to report detailed historical data efficiently. Also, continued to load new data sources into the enterprise data warehouse using a combination of C#, SSIS, and SQL stored procedures. Implemented table partitioning and filegroups for the data warehouse in order to improve performance, accessibility, and backup and recovery procedures. This allows for a much faster turn around time in the event of a disaster recovery scenario as well as decrease storage needs.Played a key role in the development of a custom reporting framework, using PHP, JavaScript, and CSS, that allowed for ad-hoc reporting against the data warehouse. The framework allows for more consistent and rapid development of reports and dashboards for new data sources. The framework dynamically builds queries based on the column selection, allowing the user the ability to explore the data in a way that most fits their needs.

Designed, built, and maintained an enterprise data warehouse used to efficiently and securely store and report on NASA’s security and inventory data. This includes database administration tasks such as maintenance, configuration, performance tuning, backing up the data, and planning for disaster recovery scenarios.Designed, built, maintained, and troubleshot SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages, C# programs, and stored procedures used to Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) over 150 million rows of data a night into the enterprise data warehouse.Designed, built, and maintained agency-wide vulnerability, compliance (FDCC and USGCB), software, service, and hardware reports for NASA, from data gathered and processed into our data warehouse, resulting in a lower threat posture and exposure to vulnerabilities while allowing efficient utilization of computer resources. This includes a custom and comprehensive reporting website, IT-Security dashboard, custom requests, and web applications.

Worked part time providing system support for the company’s Wintel networked environment. Identified, recommended, and installed computer hardware, software, and firmware upgrades resulting in improved efficiency and performance. Tested and configured computer and network security, implemented a weekly backup solution using Norton Ghost, and setup Raid configurations to provide fault tolerance from disk errors and single disk failures. Developed software and scripts used to monitor systems and more efficiently deploy patches.
