Part of a multidisciplinary team of passionate experts, provides consulting services, interim privacy staffing, and supports privacy aspects of client engagements across the firm’s portfolio of work. Assists clients with navigating health information privacy challenges and opportunities

• General support of the healthcare privacy team for 3 acute care facilities and one large ambulatory facility • Collaborates with the affiliate Privacy Officers and other privacy team members to assure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations as well as the organization’s internal policies and procedures• Responsible for root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and investigative reports for privacy incidents. • Conduct investigatory interviews on regulatory matters and concerns• Prepare investigation reports to include regulatory breach notification risk assessment (BNRA) and evaluate findings to identify patient and regulatory notification requirements • Draft breach notification letters to patients and regulators (DHHS, CPDH, CA AG, etc.)• Investigation and maintenance of documentation for privacy incidents and ensuring timely reporting to patients and government entities as required by law• Responsible for ensuring affiliates remain complaint for addressing Patient Right’s requests including amendment of medical records, accounting of disclosures, and right of access• Conducts New Employee Orientations (NEO) to ensure onboarding workforce members maintained a working knowledge of Sutter Health’s privacy program• Responsible for training onboarding students and volunteers to ensure compliance with Sutter Health privacy policies and procedures• Integral member on various projects such as reforming Sutter Health’s Verbal Disclosure process in the ambulatory setting• Responsible for reviewing and editing Sutter Health’s Policies and Procedures at the system level • Presenter at Privacy & Information Security University (PIU) on “Investigations 101” which provides knowledge of the privacy program to all workforce members of Sutter Health• Participant of Office of the General Counsel Climate & Culture Committee (C3) as well as a member of the C3 Education Subcommittee and Mindfulness Subcommittee

• Direct Report to the Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, and Assistant General Counsel for the Valley Area• Participated in daily mock Joint Commission Tracing Audits and reports findings back to Hospital executives• Facilitated BAA review, negotiation, and signing • Reviewed Attorney Work Product to minimize errors, as well as review and analyze versions of documents for comparison • Supported Legal, Compliance, Privacy & Information Security, and Healthcare Risk department leaders and staff locally• Acted as the accepting office for Agent of Service. Accepted and processed a wide variety of subpoenas ranging from Personal Appearance, Radiology, Pathology, Medical Records, Billing, Employment, Preservation Notices, and Summons and Complaints for 4 affiliates
