  • Motorola
    Senior Engineering Manager
    Motorola Sep 1998 - Jan 2003
Managed the definition and introduction of several major system releases from concept through to customer deployment. Often this required coordination of multi-site development projects enabling the successful introduction of new features.Member of the process steering committee, responsible for introducing the quality system and process changes, directed a series of improvements enabling certification of TL9000/ISO9001 and an SEI level 5 assessment. Transferred technology and process between international locations resulting in a smooth handoff.Directed a plan to leverage skills and introduce a software tool (DOORS) to manage 1000 system requirements, create automated documentation with traceability through to test cases and generation of volatility metrics.Committed to an aggressive problem correction plan. Through constant reinforcement with my team we totally eliminated the system design defects in backlog over a 4-month period from the peak of 42 problem reports.
