This role included responsibility for software product development.This journey started with understanding the business and the environment within which they operated; • People & Processes • Environment scan ○ Competitors ○ Suppliers and Customers ○ Current industry technology solutions and systems ○ Regulatory universeWorking with the other executives in the business, a pure cloud strategy was adopted and a journey plan adopted to migrate all services into the cloud. This included developing a new unified cloud platform for servicing all customers. The risk profile of certain services increased as the business moved to the cloud, which required a much greater focus on cybersecurity as well as HR policies and corporate governance to ensure that both internal and external threats to information security were mitigated.The digital transformation journey required a holistic look at regulatory requirements, the business strategy, organization design, market forces, business partners technical capability and the customer's technical capability. Through this exercise, we identified the core needs and challenges in the industry and design products and services to services the needs while eliminating the challenges. Establishing basic IT governance structures was required to provide a platform to move forward with the larger IT strategy. The implementation of an IT steering committee provided greater insight into IT expenditure and the projects that absorbed business resources.
